The Purpose:

The mission of North Wake Church is to reach the lost and to equip them to join with us in the process of becoming mature and ministering worshipers of God. Our internship program is an extension of that mission. We believe that it is the local church’s responsibility to train and equip all of its members to serve, lead and edify the church with gospel intentionality (l Cor. 1:18-31). It is our desire that those we train will become “mature and ministering worshipers” that are characterized by spiritual boldness, passion, courage, humility, and love (l Cor. 16:13-14). For “it is a trustworthy statement: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, it is a fine work he desires to do” (I Tim. 3:1).

The Process:

We provide internships with a ministry emphasis in these six general areas: Teaching, Discipleship, Evangelism, Youth Ministry, Worship Ministry and Counseling Ministry.

The application process each year includes an application and interview. Decisions and placements will be made and candidates will be notified by the end of June for the following Fall. There are only 12 intern slots available per year. This program runs from mid August through the end of May and is only available to North Wake members.

Each intern will be expected to commit themselves to the following:

  • To work alongside and meet weekly with a mentoring staff member (to be scheduled with mentor)
  • Attend all weekly Intern meetings with Noah Joyner (once a week TBD based on group need) as well as a staff meeting (Mondays) once a semester
  • Be available to work alongside Elder working groups (dates TBD)
  • Attend a scheduled Elder meeting (each semester)
  • Complete all reading, practical ministry projects (as agreed on with staff pastor) and other assigned work
