LILY Moms Coordinator Needed

LILY Moms stands for Life In the Little Years (LILY) and is a ministry to moms who have children from pregnancy to kindergarten. It is for both the moms of North Wake Church and moms from the community. Each year we have about 30-40 moms who come to be fed (both literally and spiritually) and enjoy community with others in the same season of life. Some of these moms would never attend a church service but are desperate for the kind of community LILY Moms can offer, so they will gladly and faithfully attend a weekday morning mom’s group.

LILY Moms is run by a leadership team comprised of moms who see the need for this ministry and have the heart to serve other moms.

Currently, LILY Moms is looking for a coordinator to serve  starting Summer 2021. The group meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday mornings of each month (October through May). In addition, the Leadership Team meets the 2nd Wednesday morning of the month.

Outside of leading these meetings, the coordinator oversees the different members of the team, organizes registration, coordinates logistics, and invests in helping moms thrive in the stage of life with little ones. Ideally, the coordinator would also be someone who has kids in the little years, but we are open to women who have a heart for young moms.

We are also looking for a LILY Kids Coordinator to oversee our LILY Kids program. This is a paid position.

The coordinator would be responsible for coordinating childcare workers, scheduling the children’s program, and being a liaison during the meetings between the moms and their child’s class should a need arise.

If you have any questions or are interested in either of these positions, please reach out to Erica Wu at

Partnering With TCC Serving Neighborhood Students

Dear NW family,  we are exploring some partnering opportunities with a wonderful like-minded church in downtown Raleigh - Treasuring Christ Church (TCC).  You can read more about their ministry here: https://www.tccraleigh.org

Their lead pastor, Sean Cordell, recently sent me this opportunity for NWers to serve in the city in a truly helpful way.  Here is his request:

TCC is considering opening her building during the week to neighborhood students (elementary, middle and high school students) for them to complete the five hours of work that is required from them each day. This is because the online requirements for poor families are difficult both in discipline and in access. We would maintain social distancing and take precautions to ensure the safety of all who participate.

Do you have any members who would be willing to go through a background check and volunteer in four hour shifts to monitor the students in the building? For those who desire to help but are unable to volunteer their time, are there individuals who would be willing to donate working headphones, laptops and desktop computers that are no longer needed?

If you would like to explore serving in this way, please email the folks at TCC here:

Feed Volunteers

North Wake's food pantry, Feed, is currently serving 5-10 families per week from 8:45 am -10:30 am each Sunday morning. We currently need 1 or 2 volunteers to help us continue to help the undernourished of Wake Forest. Volunteers who can speak Spanish would be a great help as well. If you're interested or have any questions please contact Rob Craig at  or call the church office (919.556.1546 Ext 506). Thanks!

Human Coalition needs male volunteers

Our local Human Coalition office is looking for male volunteers on Monday and Tuesday evenings. This position provides an opportunity to talk with the fathers of babies at risk of abortion. It also provides added safety for our staff. This does not require any kind of counseling degree or experience, just a willingness to discuss this difficult topic, educate and guide these fathers through their pros and cons. You will also have the opportunity to follow up with these men during the decision making process. Our goal is to equip and encourage the families so they can choose life. We currently only have one male volunteer every other Monday.

If you are interested or would like more information, please call (919)554-8093. Men are affected by abortion. In some cases, the father wants his baby but has no choice. Help us serve these men, restore families and rescue babies.
