“that the next generation might know…” Psalm 78:6

The North Wake Kid’s Ministry’s mission is to partner with parents in providing a dynamic environment where children learn to become mature and ministering worshipers of God through strong Biblical teaching and authentic modeling of the Christian Faith.

Each Sunday morning, the Kid’s Ministry brings children together with trained teachers to learn more about our great God.

Dedication of Children at North Wake

At North Wake we greatly value the role parents and the church body play in the process of raising children to be wholehearted followers of Christ.

This year, on Sunday, May 12th, we have the opportunity in both services for families to dedicate their children. If you would like to be a part of one of these dedications, please email children@northwake.com and provide your child’s first, middle, and last name as well as the hour you wish to dedicate (9am or 10:45am) your child.

Please complete the photo release at this LINK.

The public dedication of children serves three main purposes:

  • Parents are committing publicly to raise their children in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Eph. 6:4

It is our belief that Christ honoring parenting is one of life’s great challenges! We also believe that it requires the support of the body of Christ in order to be carried out in the most effective way. Hence, in dedicating our children in the worship services, our parents are committing themselves to raise their children in the way of the Lord and are inviting the encouragement, accountability, and prayer support of the congregation. In this way, the whole church family also commits to support the family in raising their children to follow Christ.

  • Parents are presenting these children to the Lord.

I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD. l Sam. 1:27-28

Parents who dedicate their children are publicly acknowledging that children are a gift from the Lord and hoping in God to use their children mightily to bring honor to His name and to strengthen and expand His kingdom.

  • Parents are seeking God’s blessing.

People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, He was indignant. He said to them, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.’ And He took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. Mark 10:13-16

In this time of dedication, parents are also publicly seeking Jesus’ blessing upon their children. While this act does not determine a child’s salvation, it is our hope that it will be a significant starting point in their spiritual journey towards knowing God.

Volunteers Needed

Our Kid’s Ministry is growing!! We currently have 50 more kids coming to our classes than we did at this time last year. What a blessing to teach so many children about Jesus! We have many teachers who have faithfully served and are either still serving or have taken a break to study. In light of this, we need your help. We have 16 opportunities for you to jump in and serve–10 at 9 am and 6 at 10:45. Please contact children@northwake.com to sign up.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY CURRICULUM

Our kid’s worship hour is currently using the What’s in the Bible Curriculum that discusses the books of the Bible.

All preschool classes during the 9:00 hour and all classes during the 10:45 hour are currently using the Gospel Project Curriculum.

“The Gospel Project is a weekly Bible study that helps kids dive deep into the big story of the Bible—God’s plan to rescue His people through His Son, Jesus Christ.”

CHILDREN IN THE WORSHIP SERVICE

Infants/Nursing Mothers

We provide a Nursing Mothers room that is private and connected to the worship center. Mothers may use this room to help care for their child and still listen to the music and message during the Worship Services each Sunday morning. An adjoining classroom is staffed with people to care for your baby if you wish to re-enter the worship service alone.

Worship Guide For Kids

Here at North Wake we see the great importance of worshiping together as a family. Beginning in First grade, we encourage kids to attend the worship service with their family and go to Sunday School while their parents are studying/serving the other hour. Ask an Usher for a “Worship Guide for Kids” when you receive your North Wake worship guide. This guide may contain questions that correspond with the morning’s message, space to take notes and doodle, and/or a coloring page. Have fun!

HEALTH & SECURITY

Health and security are important to all of us. We run background checks on all of our volunteers. We also offer a security identification and check-in/check-out system. If you need to be contacted during the gathering, you will be promptly notified on the main worship screen with your child’s check-in number or verbally in your adult Sunday School class.

For the health of the children, we cannot accept any sick child at check-in. Please see our illness policy listed below.

ILLNESS POLICY

Please join us in helping keep the children of North Wake healthy by following our posted illness policy.
