1) God Hosts Humanity in the Garden (but humans reject their Host & are cast out)

2) God Requires Israel to Welcome Strangers/Outcasts (but Israel fails & is cast out of the land)
– Deuteronomy 26:5-13 (cf. Exod 22:21; 23:9; Lev 19:33-34; Deut 10:17-19; 27:19)

3) God Promises Eternal Welcome to All Kinds of People (never to be cast out!)
– Ezekiel 34:1-31 (cf. Psalm 23 ; Psalm 146 ;  Isa 19:16-25; 55:1-9; Zech 2:11)

4) Jesus comes as the Divine Host Fulfilling the Promises
– John 4:1-45 (cf. Matt 9:10-13; Luke 4:16-30; 5:27-32; John1:1-14)

5) Jesus Calls His People to Gospel Hospitality
– Luke 6:20-36 (cf. Matthew 31-46 ; Luke 5:27-32; 9:1-6; 10:1-12; 12:22-34; 19:1-10)

6) Hospitality is a Mark of God’s Redeemed People
