Facet of Christ (Day 88)

He will never disappoint us or underwhelm us. As much as we leverage our longings onto him, he will fulfill them, and more than fulfill them. (Luke 9.17) Dane Ortlund 17 And they all ate and were satisfied. And what was left over was picked up, twelve baskets of broken pieces. (Luke 9:17)

Facet of Christ (Day 87)

That grace is (2 Cor 12) sufficient. It needs no me-generated supplement. All he requires is need. Nothing more, nothing less. The bar of divine grace is low, so low that the proud cannot get under it. (James 4.6 Dane Ortlund 6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)

Facet of Christ (Day 86)

He loves weakness. He works with weakness. That qualifies me for his grace. You feel the same way. (2 Cor. 12.9-10) Dane Ortlund 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities.
