Read:  Ephesians 3:14-21

Here we are at the end of another trip around the sun.  The sands of the hourglass continue to slip through the fingers of time and many people take the turn of the calendar year as an opportunity to examine whether their own goals and hopes are also advancing.  As I was scrolling through everyone’s holiday posts this past week, I saw a particularly encouraging one from a North Waker who was letting all of her friends know of an app she had used this past year to help her read through the Bible.  Interestingly, the main point of her post was not highlighting the app; instead, it focused on the inclusion of a group of friends that journeyed along with her to help her remain faithful to her goal and encourage her to finish.
If reading through the Bible or growing closer to God is at the top of your goals for 2023, we have a list of resources that have been curated by Larry to help you get started on a plan.  I have used several of these and have found that each one has unique strengths.  Check them out here.
In addition to picking a plan, let me suggest that you let your friends, small group members, and family know about your goals and resources. In doing so, you will probably find a band of brothers or sisters who want to take the journey with you.  Frodo could not have destroyed the ring on his own.  Elizabeth Bennet would have never found love without Mr. Darcy.  And 2022 has shown that though Brady may be the GOAT, he needs Gronk.  Take this journey with another brother or sister and by the end of 2023, you will most likely find that you have gone farther than you would have on your own.
